What we're looking for 

We’re seeking enthusiastic students to join our Year in Industry program, specifically designed for undergraduates to immerse themselves into the STEM subjects they are most passionate about. The Year in Industry students will fill an important role in our Research & Development, Manufacturing and Sustaining teams. 

This role is for an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team.  

In this role you will work as part of a larger team to contribute to the delivery of our new and existing scientific and industrial instrumentation solutions. 

If your application is successful, you will be welcomed into the team and experience a comprehensive induction program to help you get settled.  

We continue to support and develop our students by harnessing their skills, knowledge, and performance with in-house, on-the-job, and external training.

Our Year in Industry students are empowered and encouraged to take on new challenges and experience a full variety of projects that form part of the everyday at Malvern Panalytical. 

What you will bring to the role 

  • Creative thinking – design will be at the heart of this work. 

  • An interest in understanding customer requirements and communicating results. 

  • Curiosity and desire to learn – the projects are interdisciplinary. 

  • Working knowledge of Electronics Systems Principles and Hardware integration. 

  • Ability/appetite to learn to program software, and embedded software using C, C++, C#. 

  • Working knowledge of Coding Standards and Practices. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • A Full-time position at Malvern Panalytical throughout your placement, of 37.5 hours per week 

  • A competitive salary £23,809.50

  • 25 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays.

  • You will work out of one of our modern UK offices in either Malvern or Bristol (depending on the role). 

  • We offer flexible hybrid working and flexible hours. 

Entry Requirements 

  • Currently enrolled in a STEM degree that offers an Industrial Placement Year (Embedded Software Engineering, Electronic engineering  or equivalent). 

  • Right to work and live in the UK for the duration of the placement.
