Overview of position:

FEDITC is seeking a Senior Virtualization/Cloud Computing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to work in the Fort Huachuca, Arizona area.

A United States Citizenship and an active Secret DoD Security Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

This is an upcoming opportunity contingent on contract award.

Responsibilities:

• Perform the following functions in support of the Government to implement, deploy, operate, maintain, and sustain VI environments, large storage devices, and backup/restoration systems/services/process/procedures using maximal automation where possible.


• Secure, maintain, update, harden, and document all VI GCC and Enterprise-managed systems with in the GCC responsibility boundaries. This includes enclave administration, fault management, trouble analysis, incident handling and reporting, system status reporting, implementation testing and acceptance, and general administrative tasks.


• Provide system performance monitoring and trend analysis to identify and address system performance issues.


• Develop and maintain a standard process for collecting, developing, and managing the GEF-N and GEF-S requirements.


• Develop, deploy, install, maintain, update, and troubleshoot VI environments.


• Build and install computer infrastructure, including hardware, servers, and virtual machines using virtual operating systems, virtual environments, and Enterprise management virtual software.


• Install, configure, maintain, update, and patch virtual/physical storage for GCC and Enterprise-managed services.


• Provide recommendations on improving current SAN posture.


• Operate, maintain, secure, and monitor backup solution for the GCC AOR.


• Provide restoration and disaster recovery support for all critical internal systems and services.


• Provide a sustaining process to backup those resources deemed necessary based on Government requirements or best business practices. Process must be IAW all authoritative sources for recovery timelines and restoration.


• Perform periodic testing of the backup solution by restoring complete systems, folders and/or files, based on guidance from Government, system owner, or best business practices. 


• Assess service-based alerts, develop/determine Enterprise mission impact, report significant outages, and develop technical/non-technical alerts to the field.


• Participate in working groups to create, submit, and track change requests for the A365 tenant.


• Develop and maintain Army-specific documentation regarding policy, process, and procedures for A365.


• Perform account management for current A365 and AvD systems.


• Support development of a “single pane of glass”, statistical analysis, and other data science-related reports, dashboards, and requirements.


• Gather, develop, and maintain metrics and dashboards for A365 data for consumption by users, administrators, and Government leadership, utilizing Power BI, Power Apps, USEIM, etc.


• Support mass migrations of users and associated web/data content from one (1) system/application to another utilizing Metalogix software Suite or SQL backups.


• Support migrations of systems and applications from one (1) hosting site to another.  Migration activities may include emerging technologies and platforms that may require extensive planning and execution on both Army and DISA-managed networks.


• Other support duties as needed/directed.

Experience/Skills:

• Possess knowledge/experience in the following technologies/skillsets: Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM), working knowledge of system provisioning, network connection requirements, and methods to connect a remote MNAK to GEF-N and GEF-S transport between theaters.


• Must have an in-depth understanding of the technical requirements and the ability, knowledge, experience, certifications, and skills to perform those requirements at task order start date.


• Must have equal or higher qualifications and experience.


• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

Education:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.

Certifications:

• VMware Certified Professional AND


• Azure Administrator Associate OR


• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (or equivalent) OR


• CompTIA Cloud+

(Current MS offered equivalent is acceptable)

• MCSE Cloud Platform & Infrastructure is considered a current MS-offered equivalent


• DCWF Code: 628 – Advanced

Clearance:

• Active Secret Security Clearance is required.


• Must be a US Citizen and pass a background check.


• Maintain applicable security clearance(s) at the level required by the client and/or applicable certification(s) as requested by FEDITC and/or required by FEDITC’S Client(s)/Customer(s)/Prime contractor(s).
