Job Summary

The Head of AI will spearhead Tokio Marine HCC’s AI initiatives, championing the development and execution of AI strategies throughout the organization. This pivotal role demands a candidate who is not only a strategic visionary but also possesses a robust background in AI and machine learning technologies, combined with exemplary leadership and collaborative skills. The incumbent will play an instrumental role in guiding our AI trajectory.

Key Responsibilities Intro

  • AI Program Direction: Formulate and execute a comprehensive AI strategic plan that is in alignment with the organization's overarching objectives. Lead AI project implementations to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality delivery.
  • Governance Committee Participation: Act as a key member of the governance committee, overseeing policy development, vendor selection processes, use case evaluation, and project approvals, while ensuring adherence to regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Support for Technological Framework: In deep collaboration with Digital Insurance Technology team and business units, establish a robust, scalable, and secure technological and ditigal infrastructure capable of accelerating AI adoption.
  • Knowledge Sharing and AI Adoption: Cultivate an organizational culture that embraces learning, innovation, and the integration of AI technologies. Initiate and oversee educational and training programs to enhance AI literacy across all departments.
  • Business and Functional Unit Support: Offer expertise and guidance to departments keen on launching AI initiatives, aiding in the identification of AI opportunities and the formulation of project proposals and implementation strategies.
  • AI Program Management Oversight: Supervise the AI program management, ensuring strategic alignment and efficient execution of AI projects.
  • Partner with leaders across the organization to drive education and adoption of AI toolset
  • Implement changes to process/workflows, while introducing new tools to create efficiency and productivity gains.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in AI, continuously evaluating and recommending new strategies to maintain a competitive edge
  • Develop KPIs/OKRs for Generative AI and continuously measure and iterate to ensure success

Education

Minimum: Advanced Degree: Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related discipline.

Experience

Min. 5 Years hands-on experience with AI / ML specific model lifecycle management including understanding of AI / ML architecture, model risk, data management and responsible AI practices.

Other Experience:

  • At least 3 years direct experience with AI / ML model lifecycle management or operations or deployment
  • Demonstrable experience in leading AI initiatives to successful completion.
  • Familiarity with AI / ML frameworks (NIST AI)
  • Experience with security best practices for generative AI development and deployments.
  • Experience with identifying and communicating key risks to AI implementations and architectures
  • Experience with risk analysis and reports that describe risk implications to executives
  • Extensive knowledge of AI and machine learning technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities and the ability to inspire innovation and drive progress within cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in strategic planning, project management, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Prior experience within the insurance sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience working in financial services or other highly regulated sectors.
