Job Description:

US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Provide 24/7 time-sensitive incident response to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support the USBICES-X program. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software associated operating systems. The selected candidate will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolves issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively creates and or updates existing documentation that includes Visio drawings, SOPs, major configuration changes, etc.
- Provides advice and training to end-users and less-experienced network personnel.
- Proactively Identifies, analyzes, resolves, and documents network incidents and problems
- Provides network/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determines network specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Knowledgeable of the associated hardware, software, and equipment associated with US BICES and US BICES-X.
- Participates in special projects as assigned.
- Administers and maintains multiple voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
- Manages and analyzes the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks.
- Maintains multiple networks to meet Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement requirements.
- Utilizes IT Service Management (ITSM) Principles to identify, categorize, prioritize, escalate, troubleshoot, and resolve network problems and incidents.
- Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
- Interfaces with vendors to ensure appropriate resolution during network outages or periods of reduced performance.
- Assists with development of third-party monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Network Administration experience.
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance.
- BA/BS degree – may substitute additional years of experience.
- Must possess a current CCNA certification.
- Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.
- Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features
- Knowledge and experience with DHCP server administration, subnetting and IPAM
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multi-task while still ensuring high quality of work.
- Experience working directly with hardware vendors involved in the incident resolution process.
- Provides Tier II support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of network outages and incidents.
- Supports the timely escalation and communication of status to external and internal customers.
- Experience with various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices.
- Experience with administration and configuration of SolarWinds
- Experience with GEM ONE and VINE for network encryptor administration
- Intermediate to advanced level experience with MS Visio required to develop network diagrams and RMF artifacts.
- Experience with DISA STIG patching, compliance, and related security activities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess a high degree of intelligence, competence, maturity, adaptability, resilience, integrity, and initiative.
- Extreme ownership of assigned tasks and duties
- The work is typically performed at client site locations, which requires proper safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
- Work will involve international travel; must possess valid US passport
- Must be willing to occasionally work weekend, holidays, and after core business hours
- Must achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany. In order to qualify for TESA, the candidate must have one of the following: Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of specialized experience, OR; an Associate's degree plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of specialized experience, OR; 11 years of specialized experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience with VoIP/VTC collaboration systems
- Knowledge and experience with HAIPE-based encryption devices
- Knowledge and experience with DMVPN and GRE tunnels
- Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting Multicast traffic
- Knowledge and experience with configuring and troubleshooting VRFs
- Knowledge and experience in terminating rj45, connecting Ethernet, SM/MM fiber, patch panels, with routers, switches, servers, media converters within: data centers, TRs, office areas, etc
- Experience with CISCO ASA Firewall administration
- Knowledge and experience with cisco ISE administration AAA/TACACS+, troubleshooting end user issues with 802.1X, and MAB
- CSfC knowledge and experience
- COMSEC operations experience
- Network cable fabrication and repair experience
- Service-Now ticket management experience
- Experience with DoD guidance, rules, and regulations for international travel
The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $105,225. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
