Position Summary


Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the Software Developer is responsible for application analysis and key strategic development activities, with a strong focus on client-side development. This role involves developing systems, applications, or application solutions that meet business requirements.


Your Day to Day:


Analyst:



  • Assess existing applications in partnership with business leads to streamline/automate processes that benefit the business.

  • Analyze and support API connectivity and interoperability between applications, with a focus on front-end integration.

  • Evaluate new client-side applications for fit within the application suite, supporting assessments related to security, PCI, and privacy requirements.


Developer:



  • Develop web-based applications, desktop applications, and web services, with a primary emphasis on client-side development.

  • Focus on front-end development using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and AngularJS.

  • Contribute to backend integrations using REST and SOAP-based web services as needed.


Application Support:



  • Provide support for various in-house and customized commercial applications, performing the following duties:


    • Investigate and resolve issues, including making code changes or corrections to fix programming errors.

    • Develop new features and enhancements; perform developer testing of new code.

    • Participate in requirements gathering and functional design of enhancements and new feature development.

    • Assist in the technical design of new features and enhancements.

    • Maintain technical documentation.



What you bring to the team:



  • Strong focus on client-side development, including web application technologies and GUI/client development.

  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and AngularJS is required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET, and C# is required.

  • Python programming experience is a plus.

  • MS SQL Server experience is required.

  • Experience with development and deployment tools and processes.

  • Familiarity with web server and proxy server configurations is an asset.

  • Experience working in Agile environments.

  • Experience with cloud technology on Azure is an asset.

  • Broad knowledge of Microsoft technologies (desktop and server OS, databases, configurations, etc.) is an asset.

Work Location:


Please note that this is a hybrid position with the requirement to work from our downtown Toronto office for a minimum of two days per week (currently Tuesday and Thursday).
