Site Reliability Engineer - Hybrid working - Cloud Computing

Smiley Technologies, a disruptive FinTech based in Little Rock, Arkansas is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join a team of IT Engineers involved in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the Azure-based Smiley Platform, distributed to banking organizations across the United States.

The successful Site Reliability Engineer will work alongside the Director, IT Network & Information Security Officer, as well as a wider Agile team of Platform Engineers, Software Developers and L1 Support, to collaborate and provide its customers with a highly reliable and efficient platform, maximizing uptime and performance.

What Smiley is looking for?

• A Site Reliability Engineer, capable of working independently and as part of a small Agile team.
• Expertise in Dynatrace, Incident Management, GitHub Actions (Pipelines)
• An Engineer who is keen to learn new technologies and keen to develop their wider knowledge within an SRE function.

What would you be responsible for?

• Ensure site reliability by providing recommendations for troubleshooting, CI/CD automation and tool development.
• Monitor the systems to ensure health and performance levels. 
• Taking part in incident response efforts, including root cause analysis and post-mortem reviews.
• Implement and manage Smiley’s Application Performance Management (APM) tool (Dynatrace) and operational alerting tools (PagerDuty, OpsGenie, etc.)
• Be willing to be on-call and collaborate with different teams for rotations to ensure continuous system reliability. 

What technologies will you get the opportunity to work with?

Our primary stack is Microsoft .Net and Azure, so on a daily basis we are working with the following technologies:

• Cloud Platform: Azure 
• Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS)
• IaC - Terraform
• Scripting - Python, Bash, Shell
• APM Tools: Dynatrace
• Database: SQL Server, DB2
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions (Pipelines)

Interview 1 - this will be completed via Video call or in Person, and will be a Q&A style interview session with members of the Core Leadership Team. This stage will be a mixture of technical and experience based questioning.
