The Role:

  • This role is critical for maintaining the overall availability of the BetaNXT mainframe environment, which is the core/source of the BETA Host product offering.

Job Duties:

  • Architecture/planning of mainframe computing environment to support business application environment
  • Install/maintain mainframe z/OS operating system software in multiple SYSPLEX, GDPS environment (3 sites, 5 CECs, 40 LPARs)
  • Install/maintain critical 3rd party software
  • Tailoring of various z/OS subsystems, including JES2, USS, SMF, etc
  • Management of various security controls (TLS certificates, TLS protocols, ciphers, etc.)
  • Assist hardware team in refresh/upgraded planning and implementation
  • Administer IBM Cryptographic environment
  • Work with vendors for system support / problem resolution
  • Participate in business continuance planning/testing/execution
  • Provide on-call support (rotation)

Skills Required

  • 10+ years installing and maintaining z/OS operating system, as well as 3rd party products.
  • Experience with utility programs and products including: ISPF, IDCAMS, CLISTS/REXX, SORT, TSO, SMP/E
  • Experience in SYSPLEX environment management, such as changes to CFRM policy, LOGR policy, WLM policy
  • Comprehensive experience in critical subsystems, including JES2, USS, SMF, etc.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IBM hardware: CPU, DASD, CF’s, FICON Switches
  • Experience with coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer to team members and other personnel as required
  • REXX and Assembler coding a plus
