Job Summary:
Robotics Manager will be a qualified and experienced Engineer with a detailed operational and maintenance knowledge of ROV Systems involving electrical, and mechanical (hydraulics) systems and umbilicals. It is preferred that the individual has a broad practical and theoretical background in seabed geotechnical site investigation, and specifically the wide range of technical equipment resources used to conduct such operations.
About the Role:
The responsibilities shall include following but not limited to:
- Manage the company’s Sea Floor Drill and similar seabed drilling equipment including its inventory, together with the hiring of any external third-party Equipment as required.
- Ensure timely availability, and tested, proven-workable condition of the SFD for use on projects, through systematic pre-deployment maintenance, calibration, testing and acceptance processes.
- Providing day-to-day support to Project Manager(s), offshore field personnel, on equipment related queries and troubleshooting.
- Monitors and analyses the operational utilisation of the equipment and its inventory, including any third-party hired systems, ensuring optimised usage of owned equipment, and efficient management of any hired resources, taking guidance from company procurement policies and business Analysts.
- Robotics Manager supports and guides the business on all matters relating to SFD’s performance, limitations, availability and costing through the project life cycle.
- Guiding and supporting Commercial teams at project bidding stages, assisting project and operational teams with day-to-day operational performance and challenges, through to lessons learned (review and application) upon project completion.
- Guiding and supporting Operations Manager(s) and Service Line Manager(s) in long-term resourcing strategies, and annual review / adjustment of hardware White Book Rates.
- Manage / perform annual equipment maintenance OPEX & CAPEX budget planning and review procurement processes.
About You
- Bachelor’s / Masters degree in electrical / mechanical engineering, Mechatronics
- 8-15 years of proven background in / practical experience with the maintenance of ROV equipment and its electrical & hydraulic subcomponents.
- 3-8 years of proven capability to actively lead / supervise onshore / offshore teams and collaborate with subject matter experts. Capable to collaborate and coordinate with other department heads, towards optimising offshore technical equipment performance and utilisation.
- Proven capability to engage with company senior management in technical equipment resourcing measurement / forecasting strategies.
- Must be socially sensitive, and able to successfully engage with, and earn / maintain the trust of a diverse group of intelligent technical specialists, of varying nationalities, cultural backgrounds, and technical disciplines.
