The Role
You will be responsible for designing, building, and characterizing cutting-edge underwater robotic systems.
Key responsibilities
- Develop conceptual designs for underwater robotic systems
- Work with the engineering team to specify mechanical, hardware, and software requirements for the subsystem
- Build, test, characterize, and refine prototypes
- When needed, specify design packages and evaluate, qualify, select, and manage contract manufacturers to fabricate designs
- Develop and maintain a system roadmap
Minimum qualifications
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Autonomous Systems or a related field
- 4+ years of real-world experience with designing, building, and shipping robotic arms, graspers, or other similar systems.
- Experience in programming complex robotics systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer and technical writing skills are mandatory.
Highly preferred qualifications
- Experience applying your experience to submersibles, spacecraft, drones, or similar power and weight-constrained electro-mechanical systems
