The Role

You will be responsible for designing, building, and characterizing cutting-edge underwater robotic systems.Β 


Key responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual designs for underwater robotic systems
  • Work with the engineering team to specify mechanical, hardware, and software requirements for the subsystem
  • Build, test, characterize, and refine prototypes
  • When needed, specify design packages and evaluate, qualify, select, and manage contract manufacturers to fabricate designs
  • Develop and maintain a system roadmapΒ 

Minimum qualifications

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Autonomous Systems or a related field
  • 4+ years of real-world experience with designing, building, and shipping robotic arms, graspers, or other similar systems.
  • Experience in programming complex robotics systems
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, computer and technical writing skills are mandatory.

Highly preferred qualifications

  • Experience applying your experience to submersibles, spacecraft, drones, or similar power and weight-constrained electro-mechanical systems
