As a Robotics Engineer, you'll be part of a top-notch team focused on customer needs and
comprised of some of the automation industry's most accomplished engineers. This position

Reports to: Automation Engineering Manager


Duties:


• Designing and implementing robotic and motion control solutions for various types of
automated equipment.


• Developing software code from scratch for robotics, motion control, vision systems,
programmable controllers, and various other systems.


• Design and develop robotic simulations using RoboGuide, Robot Studio or similar.


• Development of proper robotic path programming


• Creating accurate project documentation such as, but not limited to: Control
Narratives, IO lists, Flowcharts, Device lists, etc.


• Coordinating with the Assembly Team during the build phases of the project to
provide efficient and timely solutions to issues.


• Equipment testing, dry-cycle, runoff, FAT, etc. for automation equipment


• Installing, commissioning, and training of machine(s) at customer's site.


• Interacting with clients from a technical standpoint around solutions, issues,
progress, and other topics to help drive customer satisfaction.


• Play integral role in system acceptance/sign-off at customer facility.


• Reviewing budgets and schedules, working with the Project Manager on forecasting
and release dates.


• Determining and choosing appropriate hardware and devices for robotics systems




Primary Responsibilities:


• Deliver major custom automation design projects from concept to completion.


• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the design team and project
stakeholders.


• Use experience and industry best practices to design robotic systems in a lead role
or as part of a larger team.


• Troubleshooting equipment at installation, startup, and commissioning


• Assist project engineering team on robotics design and configuration


• Help build or assemble the robotic devices or systems in the shop


• Help complete corrective or preventative maintenance plans


• Dissemble, repair, and re-assemble robots or components when necessary


• Test performance; record test procedures and results


• Install, program and repair controllers, tooling, conveyors, etc.


• Inspect installation sites, train operators on robotics usage.


• Validate robotic safety, DCS zones, safe distances, etc.




Additional Responsibilities:


• Contribute to building up our software libraries and standards, with a focus on robot
standards.


• Automating functions to make programming and design tasks quicker and more
effective.


• Assist with creating technical reports for customers.


• Communicating with clients and coworkers about project requirements


• Analyzing data, auditing systems, and assessing automation opportunities with
customers


• Participating in safety risk assessments and assisting in specifying safety
components.


• Mentor and train other design engineers on best practices and industry standards for
the design of robotic systems

Minimum Educational Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronic Engineering or related field OR
Associate's degree (2-year) with 2+ years of experience in Controls for industrial
manufacturing related machines, equipment, robot cells, etc.


• High-school diploma





Minimum Previous Experience:


• 4+ years of experience in machine building, system integration or industrial
automation


• Extensive experience in at least one of the following robots: FANUC, ABB, KUKA,
Comau, Kawasaki, or equivalent.


• Some PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley RS Logix 5, 500, Studio 5000,
Siemens Step7, TIA Portal).


• Some HMI programming experience (Allen-Bradley FT View ME, SE, RSView,
Panelbuilder. Siemens WinCC Flex, TIA Portal) a plus.


• Industrial networking experience: Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, TCP/IP, Modbus, DH+,
RIO, EtherCAT etc.


• Vision experience (FANUC IR Vision, KEYENCE, COGNEX, etc.)


• Servo experience (AB Kinetix, Siemens SIMOTION)


• Hands on experience in automotive, food/beverage, chemical or consumer product
manufacturing designing and integrating automated equipment.


• Designing integration equipment including robot cells, OEM machines, process
systems, etc.


• Working knowledge of process control strategies such as PID loops.


• Electrical and mechanical aptitude to understand the automation processes being
controlled.


• Understand discrete and analog circuits, and how to troubleshoot.

Training and Growth Opportunities:

Travel:


• Up to 25% to customer sites or other CMA locations.
