DescriptionThe Network Administrator provides support, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues pertaining to LAN/WAN and telecommunication operations for the enterprise. The Network Services Administrator I recommends and schedules repairs. Monitor and maintains network/telecom node up times and connectivity issues escalated by the first line of support. Responsible for installing, maintaining, and patching network/telecom equipment ensuring the security, monitoring, and supporting computer communication networks, both LAN and WAN, within the organization or between organizations that are connected to the LHC network. Provides training and technical support for users and IT staff with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence on how to troubleshoot and identify network/telecom issues. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Typically works with engineers and/or manager. A wide variety of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsibilities
- IOS Upgrades: Deploy systems upgrade; Report on progress and outcomes
- Backup/Restore: Perform and test backups/restores; Maintain documentation on backup/restore procedures; Backup all running configurations to designated locations; Report on progress and outcomes
- Site Support/Break Fix: Support and administer all LAN/WAN hardware; Monitor logs and alarms; Validate there are no hardware errors; cross reference site WAN baselines; Work with vendors to troubleshoot problem sites; Reports outages and updates to appropriate LHC members; Configures and maintains VPN connections between branch offices and our data centers; Configures and maintains VPN connections between vendors and our data centers
- Equipment Management: Notify vendor of the equipment replacement or removal; Record Disposition of hardware; Maintain instance of running configuration of devices
- Acquisition/Integration Implementation: Process circuit from quote to turn up; Coordinate onsite support; Serve as LHC Point of Contact for Vendors; Document new location configurations; Setup monitoring software/applications
- Security: Should be an advocate for ensuring safety of the network and equipment; Responsible for keeping the network safe
- Documentation: Network Diagram Upkeep and Cleanup; Upkeep/input of Network/Telecom Inventory System
- Service Level Agreements: Monitoring and reporting SLA violations. Working with vendor(s) on SLA issues.
- Works with vendors to get our networking equipment configured and setup for moves, startups and acquisitions.
- Ability to report to network team with solutions to issues not just the issues themselves.
- Additional work assigned by manager.
Qualifications

Formal Education: Associate Degree or certification equivalent Experience: 3 years

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and/or one of the following: Net + Certification

Education Desired: Cisco CCENT Certification Cisco Certified Meraki Network Administrator
- Ability to follow detailed instructions, assemble and configure infrastructure equipment as required
- Ability to install Cisco equipment within a multi-layer environment and test same
- Has the ability to understand and update network diagrams
- Experience with LAN/WAN technologies, VPN, and Meraki
- Highly self-confident and motivated
- Ability to multitask support calls, projects, and documentation
- Ability to communicate network concepts to our business partners and explain issues and desired results
- Must be able to interact with local agency staff
