Job Summary:  The Assistant Network Administrator I (ANAI) is responsible for maintaining day-to-day operations of the Local Area Network (LAN) and the Wide Area Network (WAN) of the Salem Clinic. The ANA is the backup person for network trouble shooting and problem resolution of the LAN and WAN. The ANA is responsible for knowledge over system security and integrity of the servers and system files.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  

  • Computer knowledge and keyboarding experience.
  • Familiarity with current Office 365 Microsoft products.
  • Familiarity with Cisco switch and security appliance.
  • Knowledge of SAN configuration and maintenance and Synology.
  • Understands and maintain a domain-based Windows server platform, active directory and group policy objects.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritizes workload, and meets deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze information, solves problems, and makes decisions using reasonable and logical judgment.
  • An Associate’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Programming or College-Level coursework that includes 50 or more credits of computer science/programming.
  • 2 years or more of technical and administrative support in the IS environment.
  • 1 year or more of experience programming and/or system analysis.
  • 1 year or more of experience with Microsoft Office.
  • 1 year or more of help desk duties in a mixed environment that includes various current Microsoft Windows Server and Windows product.
  • 1 year or more of hardware (PC’s/servers/printers/routers/firewalls) installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.

Core Functions:  

  • Configure, install, and maintain servers and attached peripherals for LAN/WAN systems.
  • Maintain firewall, I.D.’s, cameras and other security appliances for the LAN/WAN.
  • Provide network access, user administration and security for multiple operating systems.
  • Diagnose and correct network hardware/software problems.
  • Monitor and manage network switches, routers, and wireless access points to minimize bottlenecks.
  • Maintain printer servers, fax servers, and other network peripherals.
  • Maintain electronic mail, mail security and calendar services on Network
  • Install PC’s, printers, and other IS hardware/software throughout the clinic.
  • Write programs to find alternative solutions to existing systems, programs, and procedures.
