SeKON is looking for a Network Administrator to join our talented and innovative team supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in San Antonio, TX. As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining new or existing information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other communications networks. You will ensure the network’s integrity, security, and availability while administering daily operations to maintain optimal performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Network Deployment and Sustainment: Deploy and sustain new or existing networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN, intranets, and extranets) to meet organizational communication needs, ensuring reliability and scalability.

  • Network Administration: Administer day-to-day operations, ensuring the sustainment, integrity, security, and availability of the network across multiple environments.

  • Performance Monitoring: Perform daily monitoring of network performance, conduct capacity analysis, and maintain a strong security posture to protect the network from potential threats.

  • Collaboration with Architecture and Engineering: Assist architecture and engineering teams by evaluating, recommending, and testing network hardware and software products to optimize network performance and capabilities.

  • Documentation and SOP Creation: Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance guides, and knowledge base articles to ensure proper documentation for network operations and upkeep.

  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular network infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to sustain operational efficiency and uphold security standards.

  • On-Site IT Support: Provide on-site IT support and system administration for servers, network equipment, operating systems, and applications across all supported networks at various sites, ensuring uninterrupted service.


 


This role demands strong technical expertise in network deployment, administration, and security, with a focus on maintaining high availability and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with architecture and engineering teams to support network innovation and sustainment.


 


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required.



  • Strong consulting and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across fast-paced and dynamic teams and at various levels of leadership.



  • Strong understanding of Joint Health Service Support or Defense Health Agency processes.

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to present effectively to senior government officials.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and proactively with customers and program office members in a multi-vendor environment.

  • Willingness to serve in various ad hoc roles, including contributing to proposal efforts and participating in hiring processes.
