The Network Administrator role consists of working closely with technology teams to assist in service support and delivery according to best practices and published procedures. This work is performed 24/7 from our Network Operations Center (NOC) to deliver day to day managed technology services.  Our group provides a reliable, secure, and highly available computing environment to support the IS group mission and advance Proskauer’s firm values and vision. This position covers the weekend night shift.



Responsibilities

  • Assist with escalated attorney and staff support requests.

  • Participate in technology problem management and scheduled change activities.

  • Provide regular care and maintenance of the computing environment.

  • Monitor technology availability and performance between all Firm offices and services. Identify and handle any alarm conditions that could impair services and perform escalation and/or troubleshooting in accordance with documented procedures.

  • Respond to network operations phone calls, service support tickets and provide escalation and communications regarding disruption of services to meet firm SLA's.

  • Use established workflow processes and tasks to maintain SLA's, and when necessary troubleshoot or escalate requests to 3rd level support groups.

  • Assist in problem management processes towards service restoration and resolution.

  • Other projects and assignments as required.



Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) role, preferably with applicable certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco or similar administrator level certification.

  • Have strong technical, troubleshooting and customer service skills with experience in managed lifecycle and IS customer support.

  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills as this position requires interfacing with front line support and management personnel.

  • Ability to maintain composure and service standards in all situations.

  • Must work well independently and see tasks to completion.

  • Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule (weekends overnight 10:00pm-10:00am)


 


Required Knowledge Base: Administration and Troubleshooting



  • System Administration

    • Windows server and Virtual desktop administration, QA and troubleshooting

    • Patching, Backups and restores, UPS support, Networker, Data Domain, etc.


  • User Administration

    • Microsoft Active Directory (add/remove computers, users, groups, shares, password reset / lockout troubleshooting)

    • Work10 systems and application support, document recovery


  • Network Administration

    • Basic understanding of TCP/IP protocol, Wide area networks, SDWAN, Cisco, security appliances, Aruba Wifi, etc.

    • Troubleshoot ISP/WAN and vendor hardware for repair, parts RMA / dispatch

    • Assist Helpdesk with Citrix, VPN troubleshooting


  • Email Administration

    • Microsoft Exchange/Outlook (add/remove email groups, set OOO, mailbox data expansion and email restores)

    • Manage / release policy-blocked email, whitelist whitelisting safe addresses and domains, troubleshooting and retirement of mobile devices


  • Security Administration

    • Suspicious email analysis, and various security tools

    • Coordinate secured facility access


  • Change / Problem Management Processes

    • Awareness of changes on shift, participate in testing, communication, and validation.

    • Support the problem management process through communication, escalation, and remediation assignments.


  • Observability  

    • Working knowledge of NOC software including SolarWinds, Mxtoobox, AppsWatch, ActiveXperts, Catchpoint, ServiceNow, Absolute, Powershell



The hours for this position are 10:00pm – 10:00am ET Friday-Sunday


This position may require periodic physical presence in Proskauer’s offices as business needs require. The anticipated compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $130,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
