Mayvin is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to provide support to the Cybersecurity and Compliance initiative in the Department Homeland Security's Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (DHS CWMD). The scope of this initiative encompasses a variety of information security expertise: Security Control Assessors, Software Security analysis, CDM / vulnerability management, and IT Governance work in Data Management, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Investment. Support will primarily benefit CWMD's Systems Support Directorate (SSD). The agency's main work is to develop and/or acquire CBRN detection equipment through the DHS acquisition process and deploy that equipment to DHS's front-line operators to alert them of the presence of chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear weapons or materials present in the people, vehicles, or cargo entering the country.


 


Must be a U.S. Citizen.


Clearance Required: Active SECRET clearance, ability to pass DHS background investigation.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Provide cybersecurity input to test requirements to ensure testability and collection of data to validate results

  • Coordinate with the test leadership on capability gaps needing to be addressed for test events, and with the system test team to determine feasibility of cybersecurity tests and resources required for test cases, to include the use of specific cybersecurity tools

  • During test events, serve as on-site cybersecurity advisor to test leadership

  • During test events, execute cyber test procedures to include the use of cybersecurity tools such as Tenable Nessus

  • Ensure quality assurance of all cyber test data during test events

  • Principal author of cyber test analysis and test plans, and test reports and briefings

  • Principal analyst of data collected during cyber test events

  • Brief cyber results and recommendations to the Data Management and Information Security Assessments Branch Chief and other Test and Evaluation (T&E) leadership

  • Participate in program meetings as T&E cybersecurity representative

  • Coordinate with cybersecurity staff on what controls are to be assessed


Qualifications:



  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from a fully accredited institution. (Advanced degree preferred but not required)

  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience (or 6 with a Masters degree)

  •  Applicants must have an active DOD Secret clearance or higher

  •  Applicants must undergo a Background Investigation (BI) to meet DHS Suitability requirements.

  •  Experience with desktop and operational technology operating systems such as Windows, Linux, Yocto

  •  Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Tenable Nessus

  •  Experience analyzing output of assessments or tests of information technology, identifying gaps and shortfalls, and producing reports and briefings from that analysis

  •  Experience analyzing system requirements and developing procedures to test those requirements


 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Operational Technology

  • NIST SP 600 and 800 series guides

  • CWMD T&E Operating Instruction-1 and DHS T&E processes and procedures

  • DHS 4300A Sensitive Information Technology Systems series and other DHS cybersecurity related governance

  • DHS and CWMD acquisition lifecycle documents as they apply to CS

  • Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework

  • Experience using CBRN detection equipment
