POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

As part of the Las Vegas Game Design Studio, this position will be responsible for assembling game assets from Math, Art and Sound departments in order to develop fun and engaging experiences for players around the world. This is an intermediate position wherein Game Developers will expand existing knowledge and techniques to produce deliverables.

Software will be programmed in Ainsworth’s proprietary languages and IDEs.  Therefore, a working understanding of the C# programming language and the ability to write code is a must requirement.  Working experience with Shaders, Lua, HTML5, and CSS will be a benefit the successful candidate.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Game Developer II will display advanced aptitude in all skills, understanding, and knowledge of a Game Developer I with additional requirements.  This position will apply intermediate scripting skills and job knowledge within the scope of game design.  This role may adapt procedures, operations, techniques, tools, and equipment to meet needs of game development as well as work on non-routine tasks such as resolving issues or making working decisions within a prescribed area of game development based on best practices and guidance from team lead(s).  This position will have no direct reports.

  • Ability to create requested winengine game features with minimal supervision
  • Ability to develop core style winengine concept game with minimal supervision
  • Study project requirements and technical specifications
  • Build and complete projects using waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Investigate, identify, and resolve functional, graphical, and mathematical game-play issues
  • Contribute to ongoing support documentation for development standards and best practices
  • Embrace changing priorities based on game delivery schedules
  • Other duties as assigned

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or equivalent work experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Software Development experience with Object-Oriented Design.
  • Web Development experience with scripting and markup languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be 18 years or older and able to obtain a Nevada Gaming license, which includes background check and drug test.
