Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design & product software design, verification & validation.Β  We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.

The Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline within CDS is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for P&W engines using state of the art technologies, tools & methodologies.

Position Overview

The candidate must have 2-3 years of hands-on experience in the development and testing of cryptographic algorithms on target multi-ore processors. Experience with real-time operating systems, communication protocols and microprocessor architectures is desirable.

The suitable candidate will work with a team of embedded systems engineers to develop the foundational software that integrates with the engine control application. The candidate will learn about the unique aspects of developing safety critical software, the processes involved and the application of product security to engine control software.

Core Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include writing requirements, capturing software architectures, developing designs and low-level C code for the target multicore processor and hardware software integration testing for safety critical engine control and health management applications. The candidate will work with security technology experts within the discipline.

Qualifications

Experience: C, assembly, Python, ARM processors, PPC processors, cryptographic algorithms, Jira, DOORS.

Competencies: Clear, concise communication skills and interpersonal and teaming skills are critical.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 2-3 years of experience or a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or Computer Science
