Overview






i3 has an exciting opportunity for an embedded systems engineer to support the development of DoD EW systems. The embedded systems engineer will develop and program hardware solutions for EW systems and other RF devices. Additionally, the embedded systems engineer will aid in the analysis of radar and EW systems. This position is located in Arlington, VA.









Responsibilities






  • Architect and implement hardware/software-based embedded systems.
  • Circuit board design and simulation.
  • Microcontroller/microprocessor programming, both bare-metal and with an OS.
  • Lab setup and evaluation of circuit cards.
  • Generate technical documentation.








Qualifications






Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of embedded Linux (i.e. Petalinux).
  • Familiar with common bus standards (e.g. I2C, SPI, etc.).
  • Experience developing/debugging embedded (both OS-based and baremetal) software in C/C++.
  • Working knowledge of electronic test equipment (oscilloscopes, etc.).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with RF systems (radar, communications, etc.)
  • Experience with VHDL or Verilog.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with VPX (VITA-46) standards.
  • Experience RF test equipment (e.g. spectrum analyzers, network analyzers).

 

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret clearance.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
