Job Description: Senior Database Developer for DB2 on AIX/Linux (Application Database Engineer)

Relevant Years of Experience: 7 to 10 Years

Skills set required and Responsibilities:

- Perform Data Modeling with tools like ERWIN for Data Warehouse 

- Design Database using snowflake or star schema

- Understand the architecture of DB2 DPF Database

- Identify and suggestion Database Partition Techniques based on data

- Provide performance tuning for complex queries

- Handle and suggestion solution for Deadlock and Broadcasting

- Code Review to improve complex queries and joins

- Create /Suggest indexes and joins for complex queries

- Hands on with “Explain Plan” analysis

- Hands on with scripting with shell or korma shell.

- Experience with writing queries databases with 5 to 10 + Terabytes of data or comparable Data warehouse

- Work with developer for design and development of tables and databases

- Object Creation (Schemas ,Tables, Views ,Projections , Grants ) using pre-defined standards

Technology Skills:

- DB2 DPF on AIX /Linux   

- Shell scripting experience( good to have)

- Optional Skills - Hadoop / Vertica
