The Business Technology Group (BTG) within IMDA aims to introduce innovative emerging technology assets to our local industry to catalyze digital transformation. We closely collaborate with researchers to develop novel sciences and with industry to drive adoption of emerging technologies.
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer to join our Business and Technology Group Labs Division as a domain specialist in robotics field, supporting the robotics/AMR development within the organization as well as providing technology consultation to the industries. The ideal candidate should be an experienced robotics engineer with practical software coding skills. Working in an agile cross-functional team, the candidate should contribute to the development of robotics/AMR application based on the forefront network connectivity technology and create prototype and Minimum Viable Products.
What You Will Be Working On:

Assist cross-functional teams to develop strategy and implementation plan for robotics/AMR application at national level.
- Support the robotics/AMR setup within the organization and at its research/translation lab.
- Design and implement the robust software for robotics/AMR application, which could be in the form of minimum viable products and prototypes.
- Write in-depth technology reports and white papers to share our point of view of technology and trends across multiple channels.

Collaborate with industry and academic partners to drive translation and innovation to develop products.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Open minded and passionate in robotics/AMR application development.
- Good technology interpretation skills, able to translate business requirements into technical specs.
- Expertise in software development, particularly for robotics/AMR applications.
- Proficient in robot programming use Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2) and Linux environment. Hands on working experience of C++/Python with relates to robotics/AMR application development.
- Experience in one or more of the following domains will be preferred: Robot Intelligence, Machine Vision, LLM, Sensor Fusion, Motion Planning, etc.
