The Human Resource Analytics team at Citizens Bank leads the organization’s understanding of workforce insights and organizational health. Our team uncovers holistic data-driven business opportunities across the talent lifecycle to enable transformational change and operational efficiency. We analyze internal and external data to understand diverse employee voices, and experiment to scale solutions that make the work experience better.


The ideal candidate sees beyond the numbers to find opportunities to strengthen the employee experience and organizational performance. The candidate is relentless problem-solver who is passionate about the way that new technology can benefit organizations and employees, alike. The individual is a change agent with a demonstrated track record of marrying complex sets of people data with business imperatives to create actionable insights to improve performance, retention, and organizational agility. The candidate possesses strong quantitative skills, is capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and can communicate effectively with executive and technical audiences. In addition, the candidate is comfortable working with technology partners as the voice of business to collect business and functional requirements to enhance relevant programs.  An “outside in” perspective, data science skills, high intellectual curiosity, and a consultative posture are essential skills to possess in this role.


The HR Data Science Consultant at Citizens Bank will:


Key Responsibilities



  • Perform advanced analyses to uncover trends and relationships to support workforce planning efforts, organizational agility, talent acquisition and development, retention, and other priorities.

  • Consult with business clients on workplace insights: diagnosis, research design, hypothesis testing, analysis, visualization, and presentation. Assist in development, execution, and evaluation of client OKRs, human capital KPIs and other measurement strategies to enable business results.

  • Synthesize business goals and strategy with HR, productivity, and market data to build integrated, tangible recommendations on talent and culture topics; employ storytelling techniques to make recommendations, moving from the “so what” and “now what,” to drive impact; develop executive presentations and dashboards for recurring and ad hoc workforce measurement needs.

  • Lead and/or contribute to discussions of operating model/service delivery impacts associated with new technology and innovation (e.g., GenAI), as well as the impact of technology on talent behaviors including wellbeing, job satisfaction, performance and engagement.

  • Advise HR on the strategy to optimize the benefits of data and digital transformation to capture business value; identify ways to accelerate HR and business outcome insights horizontally across the organization.

  • Merge and clean structured and unstructured disparate datasets from multiple sources to deliver insights.

  • Apply best practices for artificial intelligence and machine learning; build and analyze models and address related data governance requirements.

  • Utilize external research (e.g., BLS and talent intelligence sources) to understand broader labor market trends.

  • Design approaches for and implement digital solutions for self-service.

  • Lead key initiatives that drive efficiency and value; assist with change management efforts to scale HR analytics solutions across the enterprise.

  • Partner and train clients and HR stakeholders on impactful use of data and data literacy techniques to drive business outcomes. 

  • Provide guidance on business priorities and opportunities for replication of solutions and self-service to HRA partners.

  • Advise on enterprise-level and business unit level analytics work with analytics partners through the organization; contribute to enterprise data governance methods and priorities.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills - approaches problems with rigorous logic and a curious mind – looks beyond the obvious and searches for deeper answers

  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python) and/or mathematical/statistical software (e.g., R), and other advanced analytical tools (e.g., Sagemaker, Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight, Visier, Alteryx)

  • Applied statistics or experimentation (A/B testing) and psychometric principles (e.g., regression analysis, factor analysis), as well as research design. 

  • Proficient in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), database management systems, and employee listening platforms (e.g., Perceptyx, Glint)

  • In-depth knowledge of people analytics operating models and digital transformation levers; knowledge of the HR technology landscape.

  • Domain knowledge of HR centers of expertise.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences – tells stories with data that resonate with stakeholders and maximize impact; excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience designing human-centered analytics solutions with HR technology to accelerate the employee experience 

  • Ability to manage multiple client groups simultaneously; project management background

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong decision-making skills; stellar interpersonal, relationship building, and collaboration skills 

  • Highly-organized with strong attention to detail and documentation; results orientation



Additional Knowledge & Skills



  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects while meeting deadlines and documenting progress towards those deadlines

  • Proficiency in change management approaches (e.g., PROSCI, etc.)

  • Familiarity with LLM and deep learning techniques

  • Proficiency in agile and design-thinking methods

  • Experience with AWS Cloud suite, Snowflake, Oracle HCM, Service Now, Saba a plus


Education and Experience



  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative social science field (e.g., I/O psychology, behavioral economics), data science, or other relevant technical field

  • 8+ years of client-facing People Analytics, Workforce Strategy, Business Intelligence, or Human Capital Consulting experience, working in/with complex organizations, or combination of education and experience 


Hours & Work Schedule



  • Hours per Week: 40

  • Work Schedule: 8:30-5 Monday-Friday (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
