Job Description

About the role: 

As a Systems Programmer, you will provide application support to money movement products that will change the way the world pays, banks and invests. This will involve working with bleeding edge technology while installing, implementing, maintaining and supporting software applications.

About the team:

FIS is looking for a Systems Programmer to join our OPF Service Delivery team and Money movement teams This position will support ACH and some of our newest products, Realtime Payments as well as FedNow.

Provide application support, ticket and defect management, and be part of a on call rotation. 

What you will be doing:

  • Install application code into Development/QA, UAT and Production environments

  • Uncovers and troubleshoots application and infrastructure problems by performing routine tests and monitoring logs

  • Repairs errors and work stoppages by working independently and with other groups within the company

  • Increases system efficiency by analyzing key performance indicators and suggesting reworks

  • Keeps highly-sensitive client data confidential

  • Maintains thorough records by documenting system revisions and changes

  • Conduct professional meetings with internal staff

  • Assist in building out new application infrastructure

  • Evaluates new techniques and technology to drive applications forward

  • Frequently updates knowledge base by establishing personal networks and participating in professional organizations

  • Contributes to team efforts

  • Participate in team on call rotation

  • Learn and support the new Instant Payments platforms (Realtime Payments and FedNow)

  • 24x7 support for operating systems and ancillary software.

  • Educates internal users on software capabilities and use.

  • Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you will need:

  • Previous system administration experience or equivalent education preferred

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant internship or work experience related to IT Infrastructure, Data Centers or Business Analysis would be a plus

  • Qualified individuals will be able to work successfully in fast-paced enterprise-level environments requiring exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • A general, holistic understanding of IT infrastructure inclusive of server, storage, network, database, systems, DR/business recovery and continuity practices, etc.

  • Requires knowledge of UNIX operating system and SQL

  • Broad knowledge of major operating systems

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Willingness to learn

  • Knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Office tools to manage plans, charts, reports and documentation, etc.

  • Experience with FinTech and Money Movement technology preferred

FIS is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $55,530.00 - $90,510.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
