Berkshire Hathaway Automotive is seeking a professional, proactive Systems Developer to join the IT team.
The Systems Developer is a blended role responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of applications supporting management of systems related to user management, infrastructure, alerting, device maintenance and management, process automation. The primary focus of this position is delivering cost effective, secure, and technologically sound programs required to drive efficiency in IT and related processes.
This position is full-time and will be onsite at our Headquarters in Irving, Texas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide application development for new and existing systems with a major focus on ETL and data transfer between systems.
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing codebases utilized by internal BHA teams. Development of monitoring and reporting programs to ensure office automations are operating efficiently.
- Provide primary support and response to SQL Database management and associated scripting. Support of Linux platforms and associated email systems running on Linux servers.
- Ensure recovery of systems is applied to the environment in support of disaster recovery efforts. Be well versed in PowerShell, Python, or other scripting language to author new routines when automation would be helpful.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:
- 2+ years of development experience utilizing a variety of scripting and programming tools. Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux platforms
- Ability to set priorities and perform a variety of complex and broad work assignments. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency. Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills.
- Keep relevant documentation for all areas of responsibility.
- Possess a valid driver's license and pass a motor vehicle report and possess an acceptable safe driving record.
