As a Systems Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions to meet the organization’s needs, with a strong focus on Appian, Microsoft Power Platform and other low code technologies. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software development, the ability to work in an Agile environment, and a desire to grow their technical skills. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs while adhering to development best practices.
This is a hybrid role where you will be able to work from home, however will require occasional travel to company and customer locations throughout the United States. This role will start out part time ( 10-20 hours/ week ) with potential to become full time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Software Development: Develop and maintain software applications, ensuring quality and efficiency, particularly in Appian, the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dynamics) and other low code platforms.
Appian Development: Assist in the design, development deployment and maintenance of Appian applications, following best practices for implementation and ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
Microsoft Power Platform: Develop solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dynamics, automating workflows and enhancing business processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior developers, project managers, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and contribute to solution design.
Agile Methodologies: Participate in Agile development processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Contribute to an iterative development approach with continuous feedback and improvement.
Troubleshooting & Support: Analyze and resolve technical issues. Provide troubleshooting and support for software applications, collaborating with customers and support teams when necessary.
Quality Assurance: Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and participating in testing activities. Maintain documentation of software designs, technical specifications, and development processes.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging trends in software development and technology, recommending and implementing new tools, technologies, and processes to improve development efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
3-5 years of professional experience in software development.
2-5 years of experience in Appian development, including the design, implementation, and deployment of Appian applications.
Experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dynamics.
Experience working in Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban, with a strong understanding of iterative development and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with other relevant programming languages, e.g., JASON, XML, HTML, Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript.
Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, MariaDB, or NoSQL databases.
Skills:
Experience in designing and building RESTful APIs, microservices, and scalable applications.
Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and development practices.
Certifications:
Appian Developer Certification is required.
Certifications in other relevant programming languages, cloud platforms, or development methodologies] are a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with low-code/no-code platforms or workflow automation tools.
Familiarity with any relevant systems or platforms like SharePoint, document management, etc.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, version control).
Background in supporting non-profit clients and organizations.
