My client is ideally looking for someone who is based in Georgia, Alabama, or Florida and if so - this role is 100% remote.

We’re looking for a skilled Programmer to support and enhance our core banking system (Symitar) and various business applications. In this role, you will provide comprehensive application support, including programming, specification analysis, and development to address user needs. You will also collaborate with external vendors to maintain, modify, and optimize software applications for peak performance.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports. Achieves established objectives and results through communications with internal and external stakeholders, managers, and members. 

Job description:
  • Design, develop and maintain applications; Create and maintain applications in PowerOn that automate Symitar postings and integrate with Symitar and third-party applications.
  • Consult with business partners and internal stakeholders to understand and define requirements for changing business needs or member experience enhancements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain routine to complex software applications using multiple technologies, platforms, and interfaces.
  • Develop jobs that manage the generation and processing of data files to/from the core system; Implement and maintain Symitar core processing applications and related software systems and applicationsResearch available tools and technologies to determine alternative technology solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain routine to complex software applications using multiple technologies, platforms, and interfaces.
  • Modify acquired application software using vendor supplied customization tools to implement approved changes specified by end users and/or management.Ensure accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness through thorough testing and support of user acceptance testing. 
  • Coordinate and complete implementation in a live environment and provide documentation to assist in the development of training materials.
  • Document all work according to department defined standards.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to reduce incoming requests and improve overall service while providing a high degree of customer satisfaction, technical expertise, and accuracy in a timely manner.
  • Effectively uses written and oral communication skills in daily correspondence and completion of tasks.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and issues.
  • Executes multiple complex projects within scope and timelines. 
  • Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.
  • Occasional travel up to 10%; Occasional night or weekend work hours. 


Requirements

REQUIRED Education and/or Experience:

  • bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Four years additional specific work experience in lieu of degree 
  • 4 years specific work technical work experience with Symitar and Symitar proprietary programming (PowerOn), HTML, Java Script, 
  • A working knowledge of financial institution operations and transactions   
  • Proficiency in software development life cycle (SDLC) principles and programming languages and tools

PREFFERED Education and/or Experience:

  • 4 years of specific Symitar programming work experience within a Credit Union
  • Symitar PowerOn certification
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other relevant certifications.
