About us
Neocis is an established start-up revolutionizing dentistry with Yomi, the first, and only FDA cleared robot for assisted dental surgery. The company collaborates closely with leading clinicians to develop innovative technologies that help advance patient care and improve quality of life. Based in Miami, Florida. Neocis is venture-backed with funding from several prominent investors.
What’s in it for you?
- You’ll thrive in our innovative and collaborative environment
- Make an immediate impact on life-changing technology
- Avoid silos and “not my job” mentality in our smaller, fast paced, startup environment
- We offer sabbatical, parental leave and unlimited PTO policies
- Generous 401K plan with 4% company match
- Comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision.
The Role: As a key member of our Hardware team, you’ll be contributing to the design and development of our current and next generation robotics system. From kinematics modeling, calibration, to control you’ll get to work on all aspects of our surgical robots.
What you’ll do:
- Drive system and subsystem requirements definition. Ensure proper transition from user requirements to system requirements. Establish Key Performance Indicators.
- Create system and subsystem budget (precision, accuracy, latency…)
- Define and develop system architecture and drive cross-disciplinary architecture trade-offs.
- Ensure proper architecture of a complete sub-system, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical and software components. Identify risks and evaluate the corresponding impacts in the current architecture design from component level to complete system.
- Directly contribute to product development by proposing novel solutions and approaches for enhanced system performance, and new applications
- Define and develop analysis frameworks for system modeling and analysis. Lead modeling, simulation and estimation of robotic architectures, e.g. kinematic analysis, multi-body dynamics, calibration and optimization, control algorithms.
- Identify and implement state-of-art techniques as well as industry standard methods to improve team work efficiency. Educate team members on industry best practices.
- Effectively drive cross-functional team activities by aligning teams including mechanical, software and electrical engineers as well as clinical, project management, product development and marketing staff
- Lead risk analysis activities. Develop proper tools for system performance trend analysis throughout the entire life cycle. Drive design changes from analysis, concept proposal to new design implementation.
- Design and development of testing processes, with specific focus on relevant and meaningful metrics to harmonize equipment verification and desired performance
- Develop and maintain analysis tools.
- Generate high-quality technical documentation, for both establishment of new solutions, and continuous development of existing designs
- Support, improve and educate in regard to Verification and Validation activities, as well as advanced troubleshooting for systems’ field or manufacturing roadblocks
- Follow-up with lifecycle teams (quality, manufacturing, operation) to ensure newly introduced products or processes maintain a high standard of reliability and performance
What you’ll bring:
- BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hardware domain (Mechatronic, Aerospace,...) plus 5 years of industry experience.
- Strong understanding of robot kinematics and dynamics, control theory with a relevant application
- Proficient in robotics programming (e.g. Python,) and experience with robotic packages (e.g. ROS)
- Strong understanding in control systems
- Strong Problem-solving skills, with ability to abstract and generalize
- Strong understanding in linear algebra and optimization theory. Familiar with applied statistics
- Familiar with data-collection via basic interfaces (e.g. Arduino, DAQ), and data post-processing and statistics (e.g. Matlab, Python, Minitab)
- Experience with rapid prototyping and CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with C, C++ programming
- Experience in documenting and testing electro-mechanical systems
- Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal skills with the ability to lead the team and solve complicated technical problems
- Experience with image registration preferred
- Experience with medical devices preferred
- Experience with the following regulations preferred:
- FDA 21 CFR Part 820 – FDA Quality System Regulation
- IEC 60601-1 – Safety standard for electro-medical devices
- ISO 13485 -Medical Devices Quality Management Systems – Requirements for Regulatory Purposes
