Senspex in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, is seeking to hire a Staff Robotics Engineer for our Engineering Department!




The Staff Robotics Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electro-mechanical components for thermal imaging and video camera vision systems. Key responsibilities include the development of power and switching mechanisms, motion/motor control, and sensing devices. This position is instrumental in developing the backbone of Senspex's imaging systems, enabling groundbreaking applications across various industries.

What you'll get to do as a Staff Robotics Engineer at Senspex:



  • Design and Develop Robotic Systems

    • Develop, design, and troubleshoot robotic systems and equipment

    • Design system architecture and components, including interfaces with sensors, users, machines, hardware, and software

    • Create detailed design documentation such as schematics, drawings, and Bill of Materials



  • System Analysis and Optimization

    • Design and implement advanced motion control systems, including PID controller tuning

    • Develop motor control algorithms to ensure precise and stable movement

    • Integrate and optimize feedback systems for enhanced accuracy and responsiveness



  • Engineering Analysis and Support

    • Provide engineering support to operations, project proposals, and business development

    • Collaborate with engineers, customers, and vendors to provide design input

    • Define input/output parameters and establish functional and technical specifications

    • Conduct feasibility studies and design analysis to evaluate design concepts



  • Other Functions

    • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software

    • Assist with manufacture, operation, installation, and repair of products

    • Incorporate Senspex thermal imaging and electro-optical devices into custom systems

    • Assist with establishing functional and technical specifications and standards

    • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations for operations and safety

    • Support staff with special projects as needed and all other tasks as assigned






The qualifications we require:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related technical field plus four (3) years of directly-related experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

  • Knowledge of motion controls including electro-mechanical applications and programming

  • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

  • Experience in any of the following: electro-optical sensor systems, electro-mechanical controls, PID controllers, testing and data analysis, and systems integration on moving platforms
