ABOUT THE ROLE


The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network and server infrastructures to support business objectives. This role involves collaborating with various business lines and stakeholders to ensure technical initiatives align with strategic goals. The Senior Network Administrator will manage complex network architectures, oversee server infrastructure, and provide advanced technical support to maintain seamless operations and optimal performance.


WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Designs and implements technical solutions that support business objectives and adhere to industry best practices.

  • Collaborates with business lines and stakeholders to deploy organizational projects, ensuring alignment of technical initiatives with business needs and strategic goals.

  • Develops and deploys robust Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance across all WAN/LAN network segments.

  • Monitors and maintains networks to prevent downtime and address any issues promptly.

  • Sets up and manages complex routing protocols such as OSPF an BGP to ensure efficient data flow and network stability.

  • Oversees the installation, configuration, and maintenance of internal server infrastructure including, Windows Server, Linux Appliances and virtual infrastructure (VMware).

  • Diagnoses and fixes server-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Utilizes various tools and techniques to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

  • Manages and monitors Storage Area Network and associated storage arrays.

  • Diagnoses and fixes storage-related problems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

  • Manages, monitors and supports the integration and functionality of Microsoft 365 Services: Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Defender, and all other Microsoft cloud solutions.

  • Deploys and manages mobile devices and applications.

  • Manages Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) resources, including virtual machines, storage solutions, and networking components.

  • Performs regular updates and patches to keep systems secure and up-to-date.

  • Develops and tests disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of emergencies.

  • Creates and maintains detailed documentation for various technical processes and systems within the credit union. Ensures that documentation is clear, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

  • Provides Tier 3 support for escalated IT tickets - Offer advanced technical support for complex IT issues that have been escalated from lower support tiers.

  • Collaborates with other IT professionals and to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.

  • Shares knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.



QUALIFICATIONS:


Education



  • College or university degree in a related field and 10+ years' work experience preferred.

  • Relevant technical certifications required.




Experience/Skills/Knowledge:



  • In –depth technical knowledge of advanced networking required.

  • In –depth technical knowledge of advanced server administration required.

  • Microsoft Cloud Advanced Experience (Azure, Defender, Sentinel, Endpoint Manager) required.

  • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery failover design and implementation experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of security concepts required.

  • Palo Alto experience preferred.

  • Must have 5+ years direct hands-on networking, hardware & software troubleshooting experience.

  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office and other common user productivity software preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities required.

  • Must have strong service orientation skills in alignment with the Credit Union's mission and core values.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment required.

  • Ability to conduct research related issues and products as required.

  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed.

  • Must have experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • On-call availability for emergency evening and weekend support required.

  • Must have the ability to function in a commercial office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: email, copier, telephone, etc.

  • Some travel may be required.
