Job Summary:


buckleighwilliams is partnering with a growing commercial banking group to find a talented Senior Data Scientist who will support product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with insights gained from analyzing company data. The ideal candidate will leverage large data sets to identify opportunities for product and process optimization, potential revenue growth, and savings, as well as build and test models to evaluate different courses of action. Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage one junior team member

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies.

  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data-gathering techniques.

  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting, and other business outcomes.

  • Develop and implement company A/B testing frameworks and evaluate model quality.

  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.

  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

 


Skills and Education:


  • 4-7 years of data science experience.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.

  • Proficiency in using computer languages (Python, SQL) to manipulate data and derive insights from large data sets, including cloud-based Snowflake, AWS SageMaker, Azure AI Services, and MS Power Apps.

  • Experience in working with and creating data architectures.

  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision trees, neural networks, graph ML, OCR, sentiment analysis, etc.) and their practical applications.

  • Understanding of advanced statistical techniques and concepts, and experience with their applications.

  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

  • Advanced degree (Bachelor's/Master's in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science) preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 


Compensation:


  • The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 USD, plus 25% bonus, and comes with a Director title within the bank. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position is also eligible for incentive compensation.
