The Opportunity:

The CACI team is looking to add a Senior Data Scientist to their growing software development contract with the Department of State in Rosslyn, VA. The role will support complex and scalable data analytic service and data lake projects that provide business intelligence, analysis, and dashboard reporting to our customer’s mission. The Senior Data Scientist will work with stakeholders to leverage data to drive business value. In addition, they are responsible for mining and analyzing data to drive efficiency and optimization, developing custom data models and algorithms, and developing processes and tools to monitor production systems and data accuracy.


Responsibilities:

  • The ability to develop and deploy the pipelines and platforms that make data meaningful.

  • Follow the analytical requirements and support Chief Data Officer’s methodologies to leverage data and analytical models to drive business value.

  • Present ideas and recommendations on data handling and data parsing technologies to management

  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.


Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Active Secret clearance is required

  • Master's in a technical discipline plus three (3) years of experience; or Bachelor's in a technical field plus seven (7) years of experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in application development including Python/R, SQL, or Java

  • 3 years of development experience in Python for data processing and analysis

  • 2+ years of experience with Azure cloud

  • Strong math and applied statistical skills and good knowledge of machine learning methods,

  • Proficiency in data wrangling and handling imperfection and heterogenous data input sources

  • Experience developing best practices on designing components of the data model for a functional area of a project.

  • Soft skills including but not limited to excellent problem-solving aptitude, detail orientation, analytical mind, and great business sense.

  • Excellent communication and skills (verbal and written).


Desired:

  • Knowledge of ETL processes using SQL and/or other analytical tools such as Azure Analytics and Synapse Analytics as well as Microsoft Purview, to efficiently import structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from new and/or dynamic data sources, ensuring data validity, reliability and data governing
