Pre-Sales Engineer US

We are looking for a creative, agile and impact-oriented individual to join our Sales organization as a Pre-Sales Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to be on the front line of Generative AI, as it transitions from mass experimentation to production.

AI21 Labs was formed by AI luminaries and veterans of the elite technology unit of Israel’s IDF (Prof. Yoav Shoham, Prof. Amnon Shashua, and Ori Goshen), with the mission of building AI systems with an unprecedented capacity to understand and generate natural language. 

AI21's approach to helping customers bring their Gen AI use cases to production involves building task-specific, or specialized, language models that are uniquely good at performing specific tasks such as summarization, grounded question-answering, paraphrasing and grammatical error correction. These task-specific models are more like AI systems, enterprise-ready, offering rapid integration, scalability, and top-tier performance. 

As a Pre-Sales Engineer you will be part of our front-line team that meet with prospective customers on a daily basis. You will discover customer needs and implement solutions to client needs. This is a hands-on role requiring a technical background and excellent communication skills. A majority of your time will be spent working with the sales and solution architecture teams. You will be in a unique position to drive business outcomes and impact AI21’s product development roadmap with insights and ideas you bring back from the field.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of customer needs and constraints and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design effective solutions that meet the customer needs utilizing AI21’s rich toolkit of task-specific models.
• Collaborate with AEs to drive successful sales processes, working together as an organic team.
• Lead the hands-on development and personalized demonstrations for technical stakeholders in customer-facing calls.
• Maintain the demo library used by our sales team, and build new demo capabilities to demonstrate AI21 API capabilities across a variety of use cases.
• Serve as the technical expert of contact for AEs, providing technical expertise to support and expand relationships with prospective customers.
• Collect data, feedback and insights from your experience with prospective customers to drive continuous improvement of our language models. 
• Identify challenges and opportunities and communicate them to the Product team to guide and prioritize development decisions.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as an SE / Pre-Sales Engineer
• In-depth understanding of SaaS products and cloud technologies
• Experience with sales cycles, customer relationship building, and B2B SaaS industry knowledge
• Experience in writing code in Python or Java Script
• Excellent communication skills: Ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences and deliver persuasive product demonstrations
• Advantage - Experience working in a GenAI company.

The pay range for this position is total on-target earnings of $200K-$250K per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
