The Network Administrator II is an experienced technical position, responsible for the installation, configuration, and management of all Network and Server infrastructure components for Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC). This includes maintaining the security, availability, performance, and backup of related computer systems and networks in accordance with GVHC policies and procedures.
This position will work at our Atwater Administration Site.
Schedule is Monday – Friday, working 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Compensation: $39.59 - $45.00 an hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving.
- Manage and maintain the corporate Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Network (WLAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) keeping GVHC’s environment current and within industry best practices and procedures.
- Manage and maintain Server, SAN, and Network infrastructure components keeping GVHC’s environment current and within industry best practices and procedures.
- Document GVHC Server and Network topologies and infrastructures in Microsoft Visio.
- Adhere to GVHC policies insuring that backup and recovery options are in place including requirements for Disaster Recovery.
- Collaborate with vendors as required to support all GVHC Network Services and computer systems.
- Design, install, configure, document and monitor Network/computer systems performance and proactively report on system status and utilization.
- Research and recommend new technologies to improve network services delivery
- Maintain and audit network/computer systems security and configuration consistency
- Demonstrate basic Project Management abilities at all levels of technology modifications or upgrades, deployments or migrations.
- Manage technology projects as required while providing minimal disruption to the operational systems, including development of project timelines and deliverables using standard tools, such as Microsoft Project.
- Have a full working knowledge of all GVHC applications and their interdependencies
- Assist with all areas in the IT department and department planning as required
- Provide end user support as needed.

Min. Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of windows server and terminal services technologies, including Virtual Server operating systems.
- Advanced knowledge of SAN technologies.
- Advanced understanding and design philosophies of Cisco routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, and the various components of the LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Entry-level Project Management skillset, including development of Project Timelines, Project Scope documents, task and deliverable tracking and documentation, agenda and meeting minute development and documentation. Be able to provide oral and written updates directly to senior department leadership on project status.
- Ability to work on multiple projects within a varied work schedule to maintain system availability during GVHC business hours.
- Ability to manage task assignments using Ticket Tracking tools and other methods.
Physical Demands
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15-30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Travel between GVHC sites is required using either a GVHC-owned or personal vehicle. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, but at times you may be required to work in server rooms with noise levels in keeping with that atmosphere, including server and fan noise, A/C cooling noise and cold temperatures, networking equipment noise and fans, etc.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant network and/or server administration experience, OR an Associate’s Degree in an Information Technologies discipline PLUS minimum one and a half (1.5) years of relevant network and/or server administration experience.
- Possessing a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification strongly preferred.
- Must possess a valid Class C California Driver’s License, acceptable driving history and proof of liability insurance.
