JOB SUMMARY: 


Business Operational Concepts (BOC) is currently seeking a Network Administrator to work with our federal client. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day operational services supporting an online environment as well as switches, routers, firewalls, VPN devices, and other LAN/WAN infrastructure components that directly support the government customer. The successful candidate must be able to operate in an enterprise setting, with collaborative and communications skills to support staff managing the enterprise IT environment.


 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points, etc.

  • Use network monitoring tools to troubleshoot, monitor, and report network capabilities and connectivity as required. 

  • Perform basic security functions such as firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, packet filtering, content inspection, and anti-virus scanning.

  • Assist with the installation and configuration of new hardware and software making sure that all components interface correctly with each other and the network.

  • Operations and maintenance of remote access and LAN/WAN software and hardware. 

  • Review system logs to determine usage levels, bandwidth, performance, and security of systems. 

  • Design and develop effective backup procedures Contacting manufacturer/vendor for warranty repair or replacement.

  • Assess and document network requirements and maintain Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).

  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and regulations.

  • Evaluate network designs and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Assess and document network requirements.

  • Ensure integration and interoperability of network technologies. 

  • Ensure quick response to information assurance notifications. 

  • Provide technical support for network users



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:


Required (Minimum) Qualifications – Education, Certification, Experience, and Skills



  • Minimum of 2+ years of Networking/Engineering and/or Administration experience on an enterprise level.

  • Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)

  • Hands on experience in an enterprise network

  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, analyzing and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to meet all deadlines set forth by the employer.


Preferred Qualifications – Education, Certification, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities



  • CompTIA Network+

  • ITIL V3 or V4 Foundations Certification
