Performs intermediate professional and technical work involving systems performance, security, patching, forecasting and monitoring, and does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision of the Information Services Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years’ work experience in maintaining information systems, computer programming operations, or networking or any combination of education and experience equivalent. Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Thorough knowledge of networking, routing, switching protocols, security protocols, data storage management, and backups. Working knowledge of physical and virtual server environments; exchange and email flow and security; and personal computer and office automation systems, software and programs. Strong project planning, time management, analytical thinking, problem solving, and deductive reasoning skills. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with associates and the public.
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires fingering and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
