The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure. This role ensures the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. The Network Administrator provides technical expertise, oversight, and guidance in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of network and related computing environments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Responsibilities:



  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).

  • Configure and install network hardware including switches, routers, firewall, and Aps.

  • Monitor network performance and integrity and respond proactively to issues with network infrastructure.

  • Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.

  • Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.

  • Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery).

  • Maintain complete technical documentation of LAN, WLAN, and WAN architectures.

  • Work on planning for improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.

  • Collaborate with other network professionals in the design and implementation of network solutions.

  • Provide training and support to staff on network-related issues.

  • Monitor network traffic and optimize the network environment for performance and security.

  • Maintain an inventory of equipment and replace or repair defective components.

  • Ensure all configurations are implemented with best practices and security in mind.

  • Educate IT members through training and individual support.

  • Escalated support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or similar role.

  • Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching.

  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.

  • Experience with Cisco, Cisco Meraki, and AWS, Azure.

  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.

  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware.

  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Professional certification (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+) is a plus.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Office environment with occasional requirements to work outside of normal business hours.

  • On-call rotation for network emergencies.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and to climb ladders and stair
