Description

SUMMARY


Provide the Information Systems Management Office (ISMO) staff with engineering and administration support for legacy and non-legacy systems to increase combat effectiveness.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage all existing networks supporting Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL) Technology and Experiments programs.

  • Develop recommendations for new hardware/software and network devices in accordance with the Lab’s Technology and Experiments programs including existing infrastructure.

  • Research and provide recommendations on equipment solutions to suit emerging network needs.

  • Provide the main customer interface for MCWL personnel in connection with network and computer support.

  • Provide expertise to assist in the management of the lab’s secret networks, including the Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) net infrastructure.

  • Provide expertise on information security and physical security.

  • Provide experimental project support as necessary.

  • Support the lab’s Audio Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems.

  • Support required COMSEC equipment.

  • Support Cyber Security programs: specifically, the ability to implement Information Assurance (IA), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Vulnerability Management (VM) requirements.

  • Support the documentation requirements of the lab’s IT efforts.

  • Support Knowledge Management (KM) programs as required.

  • Manage Network Privileges and permissions.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science.

  • Military Education commensurate to experience.

  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of the Marine Corps, its missions, force structure, warfighting concepts, tactics, techniques, procedures, doctrine, and the combat development process.

  • Completion of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Fundamentals of Acquisition Managements (ACQ 101 or an equivalent course).

  • MS Active Directory support.

  • Security+ certification - CompTIA or DoD required industry standard equivalent.

  • MS Active Directory support.

  • Security+ certification - CompTIA or DoD required industry standard equivalent.

  • Familiarization with network; design, installation, monitoring, and repair using test equipment.

  • Experience supporting PKI and MS Outlook.

  • Experience with support for cellular service.

  • Experience supporting LAN-based video teleconferencing (VTC)

  • Experience supporting Windows XP and Windows Server 2003

  • Must obtain and maintain a valid secret security clearance. Certain roles may require Top Secret or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.

  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks (U.S Citizenship is required).


 


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS



  • Windows Vista, and Windows 2007

  • Windows Server 2008

  • MS Exchange 2003 and 2007

  • MS Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

  • Familiarity with the DIACAP process

  • XACTA (USMC tool used to support DIACAP)

  • CISCO Platforms (from 3500 series to 6500)

  • CISCO Software (all IOS version)

  • CISCO PIX firewall configuration and administration

  • Familiarity with VoIP and SVoIP

  • Familiarity with TMS.

  • Wireless technologies 802.11a/b/g/n

  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of all forms of network media including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and ISDN

  • Marine Corps Physical Security Protection Standards

  • Advanced familiarization of MS core desktop publishing applications to include Visio.

  • Malware, Spyware detection & mitigation


 


WORK SCHEDULE 


Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


Work is performed primarily in an office setting and occasionally in a trade show environment. May be exposed to sharp objects, some heat, loud noise, chemicals, and vibration. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.


 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing; occasional walking or standing, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
