We are currently seeking an AI Manager who will be responsible for leading the artificial intelligence group in applying the appropriate technologies to solve complicated problems in the Life Sciences industry.

This position is part of the Beckman Life Sciences Software Engineering and is located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be onsite.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and manage the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement AI strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of data collection, Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, Machine Learning Ops (ML Ops) and algorithms.
  • Oversee data governance and compliance to ensure product development delivers ISO-compliant solutions, as evidenced through design controls.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into products and services utilizing software development processes and tools.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, making adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies and methodologies.

The essential requirements for the job include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence.
  • Proven experience of 5+ years in AI and machine learning and 10+ years of product development experience, with a strong track record of successful AI product implementations.
  • Experience in managing and leading highly technical teams in product development environments.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn) and related languages such as Python, R
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 10% within US, EU, and India

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision technologies.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security considerations in AI.
