Machine Learning Scientist – Hyperspectral, Python

$180,000 - $230,000 base + equity
Remote – US based

A pioneering force in the global monitoring services sector is expanding its team and seeking a Machine Learning Scientist. This business is set to push the boundaries of space-based hyperspectral imaging sensors and is on the lookout for a talented individual to develop and design machine learning infrastructure for a team of data and remote sensing scientists.

Role Duties

In the role of a Machine Learning Scientist, the successful candidate will:

• Undertake innovative research applying AI/ML to the company’s hyperspectral imagery.


• Design and build their own algorithms.


• Develop analytical infrastructure for AI/ML pipeline development.


• Facilitate the transition of research to production, deploying models for both batch and online inference.


• Publish research findings in geospatial and/or AI conferences and write blog posts to showcase their work.

Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in ML/AI.


• An MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.


• Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, ML Flow/ClearML, DVC, Ray, and Dask.


• Experience training models and tracking ML experiments in a cloud environment.


• Familiarity with common remote sensing data types and tools, including xarray, GeoTiffs, and GDAL rasterio.


• Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment.
