 The IT Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting the organization’s network systems. This includes local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), internet connections, and other data communications systems. The role involves ensuring that the network infrastructure is secure, reliable, and efficient to support the organization’s IT operations.


 Key Responsibility:



  • Monitor network performance to ensure smooth and reliable operation.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and other network-related issues.

  • Perform regular backups and tests to ensure data integrity.

  • Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS, and DHCP.

  • Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

  • Manage network services including email, file servers, and data backup systems.

  • Develop and implement security strategies to protect network infrastructure.

  • Monitor network traffic for security breaches and respond to incidents.

  • Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation actions.

  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and ensure the network is protected against them.

  • Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions to meet growing needs.

  • Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and tools.

  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers to procure and implement new hardware and software solutions.

  • Provide technical support and training to end-users.

  • Assist users with network access, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and other network-related problems.

  • Develop and maintain user guides and documentation for network resources.

  • Ensure network operations comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain detailed records of network configurations, changes, and incidents.

  • Prepare reports on network performance, security incidents, and other relevant metrics.

  • Traveling between locations is required for installation and maintenance of network equipment


  Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in network administration or a related field.

  • Experience with VMware, Meraki, and Palo Alto equipment is not necessary but a plus

  • Experience with Office 365, Azure, Microsoft MFA, and Duo security software is not necessary but a plus

  • Experience with network security and risk management.

  • Knowledge of HPE, Dell,  and Lenovo hardware.

  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.

  • Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.

  • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.

  • Solid understanding of network security principles and practices.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
