Your Mission
As the Head of Sales for Formant, you will represent the hunting revenue growth in the leadership team and take ownership over the sales motions for a successful start up in the beginning of scale growth mode. In this very important role reporting to the President, you will player/coach a team to scale sales for the company across all prospective accounts.
In this role, you and your team will:
- Represent the sales team and revenue growth within the leadership team
- Manage a high functioning multi-disciplinary team of sales, BDR, partnership, and sales engineering roles to enable collaboration and high growth
- Contribute directly to and be responsible for the ARR growth of the company
- Formulate and execute on a strategy for growth in key markets Hunt for new business aligned with our ICPs and company goals, and build a solid pipeline through targeted account management
- Enable the team to improve close rates through establishing and iterating on a solid data driven sales process
- Utilize and encourage value-based selling techniques aligning customer needs to ROI with the product
- Maintain a deep understanding of the ecosystem and competitive landscape
- Take initiative to identify and create (or align with other team members to obtain) the materials you need to support your team and the growth
- Regularly and accurately report on the metrics, deals and funnel for the team
Ideally, you:
- Have 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership role exceeding quotas
- Have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in a direct sales role exceeding quotas, with Enterprise Account ($1M+) selling experience
- Have proven success with complex customer sales and complex technical product sales
- Have existing relationships in the industrial space, in such industries as agriculture, logistics & warehousing, facilities maintenance, energy, construction, etc.
- Have experience in robotics/automation and/or data platforms, preferred.
- Have some experience in a Business Development or Strategic Partnership role, preferred
- Are data and process driven, with an agile mentality to iterate.
- Are a self starter and take initiative
- Are a creative thinker and skilled at deal building
- Are an excellent communicatorHave a technical aptitude
- Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
