We are looking for a DevOps Director to focus on our EverHealth products, especially Updox. EverHealth a technology platform that enables medical practices of all sizes to make care more informed, more personalized, more interactive, and more adaptable. Our platform has been used by thousands of physicians who in turn have provided care to millions of patients. Our products can be completely tailored to any medical practice—small, large, or specialty—and are open to third-party innovation via a robust API. Position Summary

As the Director of DevOps team in the EverHealth division, you will be responsible for the team that designs, develops, maintains, and supports the EverHealth systems and endpoint infrastructure. You will manage a team with multiple technologies (both legacy and next generation) to support existing stacks, modernize and develop the next ones and drive innovation to support growth for our solution. You will work with product, engineering, cross-company leadership, and other areas of the organization to ensure that we deliver a secure, high-quality, performant, and reliable product that will support growth and efficiency. Our software engineering teams oversee numerous codebases that drive our customer-facing front-end and back-end API services and multiple third-party API integrations. Your role will involve providing support to these teams by enhancing and upkeeping our AWS cloud environments. This will include leveraging tools such as docker-compose, Kubernetes (K8S), Helm, Terraform, Terragrunt, Lambda, CircleCI, ArgoCD and more. Additionally, we offer support to our data teams as they employ technologies like Fivetran, Redshift, and Apache Superset. They rely on these tools to implement and expand their data infrastructure within AWS, utilizing infrastructure as code and adhering to best practices in continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).


Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate will have a background in B2B SaaS technical management with a growth-stage company and personal characteristics that complement the team. You are passionate and hands-on technologist with a track record of modernizing and improving SaaS systems via cloud migrations, containerization, and other nuanced initiatives. You have a proven track record of creating sustainable solutions. You have worked in IT and understand the uptime and security needs of a healthcare solution supporting critical workflows for healthcare organizations. You want to interact with stakeholders and partner with all areas of our organization to develop solutions to solve business challenges. You are not afraid to get your hands dirty with bare metal, open source and self-hosted solutions. You have a positive attitude, are hungry for creativity and enjoy working as part of a team. You have an ability to roadmap, estimate, track and deliver. You can be a player coach with DevOps engineering responsibilities expected of you, in addition to leading this focused team.

  • Lead the EverHealth DevOps engineers to predictably deliver infrastructure enhancements, modernization of legacy stacks, and drive reliability and performance to customers.
  • Assist teams that design and deliver architecture and strategies that hit our internal and external SLA targets.
  • In coordination with EverHealth technical leadership, design and implement incident management and response processes to ensure RTO and RPO objectives via documentation, distribution, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of our technology infrastructure including data privacy, network security and information security.
  • Partner closely with Engineering leaders to support product strategy, roadmaps, and deliverables via on-time delivery and efficient communication of relevant infrastructure change.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments in technology and process and make recommendations for improving our technology operations.
  • Manage team performance, agreeing on clear goals and targets, reviewing performance formally and informally, giving feedback, course correction, motivation and enabling recognition.
  • Maintain and enhance our CI/CD Pipeline.
  • Maintain, enhance and implement new and existing environments.
  • Perform and monitor product deployments during or after hours as necessary at a schedule agreed upon with Engineering leadership.
  • Troubleshoot and fix infrastructure issues and track and implement corrective action to prevent or shorten similar instances in the future.
  • Work with compliance and security teams to ensure compliance and security framework needs are met and/or remediated.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
  • 10+ years of DevOps engineering experience
  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience
  • Experience with full-stack healthcare infrastructure supporting technologies and languages such as Java, C# / .NET, Ruby, JavaScript, etc; solid understanding of technologies such as REST, HTTP, and JSON, APIs, RDBS and SQL; iOS or Android mobile middleware support.
  • Significant experience with cloud technologies including offerings from AWS including billing and capacity / budget planning.
  • Significant experience with containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and other orchestration solutions.
  • Significant experience with DevOps delivery pipelines and infrastructure as code while providing best practices including delivery risk mitigation.
  • A self-starter with a “get it done” attitude, capable of driving projects to completion.
  • Impeccable integrity and ethical standards.
  • Must be comfortable in dynamic work situations within a high-growth portfolio environment.
  • Strong initiative, keen attention to detail, and complex problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in the Healthcare IT space is a must for this role, with experience understanding HIPAA compliance and information/security requirements.

Where:
The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States, with access to our Denver, CO office if you are located in Colorado – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The compensation for this position is $180,000 to $200,000 USD per year in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
