\What You’ll Do With Us:  

KinderSystems is looking for a talented Database Admin/Developer to round out the Applications and Interface teams. The role will be a critical part of a small team working with the client to design, implement, test, and deploy new import/export functionality, as well as triage and provide support for our existing enterprise solutions. The candidate will be intelligent, enthusiastic, creative, and a great communicator, with the knowledge and experience to develop and maintain complex backend code and ETL components.  

Primary responsibilities:  

  • Maintain and enhance new and existing backend application components and ETL processes including creation and modifying of stored procedures, SQL Job, SSIS packages, API's, and PowerShell and Batch scripts. 
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex data and performance issues, and provide technical solutions to help triage and resolve support related tickets.  Job duties may shift focus between support related issues/tickets and more traditional project database development tasks, depending upon the client and project. 
  • Implement solutions clearly and concisely, resulting in code that is easy to understand and maintain. 
  • Debug and test all new and/or modified code. 
  • Creation of necessary technical documentation based on implementation details. 
  • Participate in daily product standups to report progress, work performed, and potential blocking issues or other problems. 
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure conformance to internal standards and specifications. 
  • Participate in product design sessions with clients to provide technical guidance as well as level of effort estimates for future planning. 
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to provide technical support during testing phases. 
  • Stays current with technical training and company standards as required. 

Who You Are:  

  • Minimum  2-4 years of recent experience with enterprise level Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)  
  • Strong Knowledge of Relational Database Design 
  • Strong Knowledge and understanding of ETL-related processing and best practices 
  • Strong Knowledge of T-SQL programming, including the development of stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views 
  • Ability to profile and performance tune stored procedures using query plan execution tools 
  • Comfortable working in an environment containing only small amounts of documentation, and experienced in tracking down issues and troubleshooting support tickets by following the “code trail”
  • Team player capable of working in a small group as well as independently 
  • Strong interpersonal skills in communication, planning, organizing, analyzing, and problem-solving 
  • High attention to detail 
  • Experience working with Jira is a plus
