We are currently looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join our team. The Full-Stack Developer has a broad range of responsibilities including front and back-end development for a suite of web-based applications. The role involves close collaboration with multiple stakeholders to design and implement enhancements of web-based applications for underwriting, claims adjusting, and other business functions. The position will gather requirements, create technical documentation, present design ideas, and develop front-end and back-end code that meets expectations of the functional departments, with a focus on performance, security, and scalability of applications.




Responsibilities and Duties:



  • Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Adobe ColdFusion, including coding, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.

  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications and design documents.

  • Integrate ColdFusion applications with databases (e.g., SQL Server) to store and retrieve data efficiently.

  • Develop user interfaces and user experiences (UI/UX) that are intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly.

  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize code, and implement caching mechanisms to improve application performance.

  • Implement security best practices to protect against vulnerabilities such as SQL injection, cross-site scripting (XSS), and cross-site request forgery (CSRF).

  • Utilize version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage source code and collaborate with others effectively.

  • Create technical documentation, including design documents, code comments, and deployment guides, to facilitate maintenance and knowledge transfer.

  • Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure the quality and reliability of applications.

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing applications, including troubleshooting issues, applying patches, and implementing enhancements.




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • High-level proficiency in Adobe ColdFusion, including CFML, CFScript, and CF Administrator.

  • Strong understanding of web development principles and best practices. Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.

  • Proficient in relational databases and T-SQL, including database design, optimization, and querying.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, well-organized, and maintainable code.



  • Experience with other web development frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, NodeJS, React) is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the insurance domain is a plus.




Compensation:



  • $40,000 - $50,000, DOE
