AI Developer/Engineer

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an AI Developer/Engineer to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

 

The AI Developer/Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing artificial intelligence solutions to solve complex problems and enhance our products and services.

• Algorithm Development / Use: Utilize custom or pre-developed algorithms for machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI-related applications.
• Model Training and Evaluation: Train, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning models using various datasets to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
• Software Development: Implement AI solutions into scalable and production-ready software systems.
• Data Processing and Analysis: Pre-process and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and features for training AI models. Filter and prepare data for use in the data analysis process.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, production personnel, and engineers to understand requirements and deliver AI-powered solutions that meet business objectives.
• Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI technologies and methodologies, and proactively research and experiment with new techniques to improve our AI capabilities.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize algorithms and models for performance, scalability, and efficiency, considering factors such as speed, memory usage, and computational resources.
• Documentation and Reporting: Document algorithms, methodologies, and implementation details thoroughly, and provide regular reports and updates on project progress and results.
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidate(s) selected to receive an offer will be offered the position level commensurate with their education, experience, and qualifications.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field from an accredited college or university
• Experience designing, building, or deploying machine learning libraries/frameworks

Additional Information:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field from an accredited college or university
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
• Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and AI fundamentals
• Familiarity with software development best practices and version control systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site’s Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor.
